& Disinfecting Grass Needle Electrodes |
| Grass
F-E2 and F-E7; FH-E2 and FH-E7; FD-E2 and FD-E7; E2 and E7 Needle
Electrodes can be cleaned and disinfected prior to sterilizing by
soaking for 15 minutes in sodium hypochlorite. Disinfection can also
be achieved by immersing the electrodes in CIDEX OPA solution, or
activated glutaraldehyde (Cidex, Metricide, etc.). Follow the instructions
provided by the manufacturer. |

| Note:
Sterilization efficacy is the user's responsibility. The following
methods are for reference only and Grass Technologies Product Group
of Astro-Med, Inc. does not guarantee that effective sterilization
will result. |

|
| Steam
Sterilization |
| Note:
The sterilizer manufacturer's written instructions for cycle parameters
should be followed. Grass Needle electrodes can be steam sterilized
as follows: |
| Gravity
Displacement Cycles |
10
to 15 minutes at 270°F to 275°F (133°C to 135°C), or 15 to 30 minutes
at 250°F (121°C) |
| Prevacuum
Cycles |
3
to 4 minutes at 270°F to 275°F (133°C to 135°C) |
| Flash
Sterilization |
3 minutes at
270°F (133°C) for both gravity and prevacuum cycles
|
| Note:
These are minimum exposure times which may be exceeded, if necessary. |

| Ethylene
Oxide (EtO) Sterilization |
|
Ethylene Oxide
(EtO) Sterilization Grass Needle electrodes can be ethylene oxide
(EtO) (gas) sterilized. Follow the sterilizer manufacturer's instructions
for details including: cycle time, temperature, device packaging,
and aeration time.
