MODEL HZP

The HZP High Impedance Probe is intended to provide very high input impedance when interfacing microelectrodes and other high impedance devices to Grass amplifiers. It is generally intended for extracellular microelectrode recording applications, but can be used for interfacing other high impedance devices. The unit also incorporates a switching circuit that provides selection of either recording or stimulating through the same electrode.

The HZP is housed in a small metal package and powered from two lithium batteries. The Input terminals and Stimulus terminals are miniature binding posts, which accept 2 mm diameter terminals and bare leads. The output is a small diameter cable with SAFELEAD® 1.5 mm diameter terminals. There are two switches, a power switch for the probe and a Record/Stimulate switch.

MODEL 15BIHIP

The 15BIHIP Bipolar High Impedance Probe is a compact accessory module designed to preserve the frequency response characteristics of Grass Model 15 Neurodata Acquisition System when interfaced with high impedance electrodes. The module improves the input characteristics when microelectrodes are used. The 15BIHIP is housed in a small plastic box.

The 15BIHIP consists of 32 active high impedance devices, two for each
of the 16 Model 15 AC Amplifier channels, arranged in a bipolar (differential) fashion.

The compact unit is designed to substitute for the Model F-15EB/B1 and F-15EB/B2 Electrode boards supplied with the Model 15 systems. The 37-pin D-connector on the unit mates with the standard input cable provided with the Model 15. A second cable provides power to the unit from the Model 15 Amplifier system.

The 32 inputs are committed in pairs to a maximum of 16 channels: i.e., Channel 1 , G1, G2; Channel 2, G1, G2, etc.
