Model 15
Neurodata Amplifier System

COMPUTER INTERFACE

No More Knobs - Just Point and Click
All amplifier and calibrator functions are completely controllable via a standard RS-232 port from almost any computer system.

Windows® Program Simplifies Setup
Included with the system is a simple Windows program for setting and saving amplifier parameters and controlling system functions.

Custom Cards Available for Special Applications
Cards are available for the most common recording situations. Special Cards are available for custom configurations. Electrode Switching Modules are also available for those applications that demand frequent on-the-fly switching.

Direct Connection to Recording or Acquisition Systems
A dedicated multi-pin Analog Out connector provides direct connection to chart recorders, tape recorders or computer data acquisition systems. With low output impedance and a ±5 volt swing, it is compatible with most recording systems. It also provides four uncommitted BNC connectors for additional input or output (oximeters, position sensors, triggers, etc.).

Rear Panel Connectors
All functions and connections are accessible via rear panel connectors including RS-232 IN and OUT for daisy-chaining systems and Analog OUT.

Completely Rackmountable
The basic system consists of a 19-inch rackmount bin which houses up to eight 4-channel amplifiers, a calibrator and electrode selector module and the controller module. A separate rackmount power supply provides power to the system.

Standard Electrode Boards and Cables
The system is provided with detachable miniature electrode boards and input cables having a total length of 17 feet (5.1 m). A mating connector is provided for analog output. Cable assemblies are optional. See Model 15 Ordering Information.

Minimum System Requirements for Link15:
Pentium 3, 800 MHz processor or better
128 MByte RAM
20 GByte hard drive with at least 3 MByte of free disk space
Windows 95/98/NT4.0/2000, WindowsXP operating system
1 free serial port (either Com1 or Com2)*
*Note: A USB-to-serial port converter can be used for systems that do not have a serial port

High Impedance Input Modules
When using microelectrodes or other high impedance devices, two High Impedance Input Modules are available.

The Model HZP single-channel probe also incorporates a switching circuit that provides selection of either recording or stimulating through the same electrode.

The 15BIHIP Bipolar High Impedance Probe is a compact accessory module designed to preserve the frequency response characteristics of Grass Model 15 Neurodata Acquisition System when interfaced with high impedance electrodes. The module improves the input characteristics when microelectrodes are used.
