| At
the heart of all of the AURA PSG systems are Grass designed and
manufactured amplifiers. Grass amplifiers are world-renowned in
the field of sleep diagnostics for their quality, reliability, simplicity,
and serviceability. This unique amplifier is designed with both
the sleep Clinician and Researcher in mind. Wireless mode allows
for the highest possible patient comfort, while the plethora of
channels available are ideal for any ambulatory Sleep Research project.
The amplifier
system provides for patient safety isolation, signal conditioning
(physiological signal amplification and filtering), and digitization.
A host computer, using TWin software, starts and stops the data
transmission and monitors the digitized data.
An intuitive user interface with LCD screen is present with the
Base Station. From the Base Station, a user is able to implement
such features as electrode impedance checking and amplifier calibration.
Also from the LCD display the user is able to obtain information
such as connection status to the host computer, and oximetry/pulse
rate information when an oximeter is in use.
Wireless Mode
Using wireless Bluetooth® technology, AURA PSG can be used for
in-lab and portable sleep diagnostic testing. The lightweight amplifier
system is worn by the patient in a comfortable pouch. Electrode
and sensor connections are conveniently made directly to the AURA
PSG. Typical polysomnographic signals are conditioned and digitized
in the AURA PSG, and then transmitted to the Base Station for real-time
data acquisition. Data is stored directly to the computer.
The 8-channel DCM8 DC input module can be connected to the Base
Station for a total of 33 recorded channels. Analog signals from
devices such as Capnometers, CPAP units, pH Meters, etc, can be
connected to the DC input module. This flexibility allows for wide
range of physiological parameters to be monitored and recorded.
Ambulatory
AURA PSG can also store data directly to a removable CompactFlash®
card for out-of-lab sleep diagnostic testing. The lightweight amplifier
system is worn by the patient in a comfortable pouch. Electrode
and sensor connections are conveniently made directly to the AURA
PSG. Typical polysomnographic signals are conditioned and digitized
in the AURA PSG, and then stored directly to the CompactFlash card.
The AURA PSG can easily be configured to “start up”
at a user specified date/time. Data will be recorded from that point
forward. When the study is complete, data from the CF card is uploaded
via Grass's TWin software.
The AURA PSG Amplifier System can also be used in a tethered mode.
If tethered, no battery is needed as the AURA-PSG is powered by
the Base Station and the data is stored to the computer. |
