Introduction
The systems described in this section are diagnostic units designed
to provide the medical team with specific information about patient
status in the fields of neurology, with the utility of laboratory-based,
ambulatory, and long-term electroencephalographic monitoring, and
sleep disorder medicine with the application of instrumentation
designed to monitor various physiological functions during the night.
Grass pioneered
the design of both types of instrumentation having designed the
first reliable electroencephalographs post World War II, which were
later used to study the EEG during the sleep-wake cycle in the 1950s.
Indeed, the reliability and economical operation of these early
electroencephalographs played a significant role in the advancement
of knowledge in these areas.
TWin®, a
Windows-based EEG, and PSG software platform is used in most systems
including the review stations. A
complete line of accessories include printers, video instrumentation
for the synchronization of the electrographic data with the patient
image, and various sensors and transducers for monitoring physiological
signals.
A comprehensive
line of clinical systems is marketed under the Grass Technologies
trademark. Some of the more popular models covered in this catalog
