Introduction

Multi-channel, real-time chart recorders are commonplace in electrophysiology laboratories. Evolving from the early mechanical kymographs, modern chart recorders combine signal conditioning with the electronics required to drive the printing mechanism to produce the recording. Two basic types of recording modes are offered; ink on chart paper using capillary pens and printing on direct thermal paper without any pens or other moving parts.

The first four recorders combine the latest display, recording, data acquisition and PC interface technologies to form a versatile line of recorders and data acquisition systems. With portable and rackmount versions available from 2 to 32 channels, there is sure to be a recorder that meets your needs.

The Dash 18 is an 18-channel data acquisition recorder featuring a 15.4" color display for viewing waveform data in real-time and an optional 11" wide thermal array recorder. The 18 Gbyte hard drive for data capture permits capture of experiments that last for days or even weeks at a time. Once data has been captured, it is possible to review data on the screen, perform waveform measurements, print data on the recorder or bring it directly to a PC for analysis.

The 8-channel Dash 8X recorder features a built-in 15" color monitor, on screen cursors for data measurements, an internal 18 Gbyte hard drive, isolated inputs and digital signal processing for filtering, integration and differentiation.

The powerful Everest X recorder/workstation offers up to 32 channels of recording with a large 18.1" touchscreen color display for viewing data in real-time or post-capture. The Virtual Chart option provides 36 Gbyte of data storage for almost unlimited recording. The Everest also features look-back while recording, highlight annotations, a customizable user interface, Ethernet connectivity and optional high-speed data capture.
