These electrodes
and accessories are designed to permit recording EEG and EMG activity
from free-moving animals. The basic components include an electrode
pedestal, which can be cemented to the animal's skull, several intracranial
electrode assemblies which plug into the pedestal, optional electrical
commutators and cabling for connection to the recording equipment.
The pedestal holds up to six intracranial, subcutaneous, or electrodes
with mounting screws listed in this section. Socket contact terminals
and stainless steel screws are offered for those users that want
to make custom electrodes. In the simplest configuration, connection
is made to the recording equipment via the 6-lead cable which mates
with the pedestal, or a commutator can be provided to allow the
animal unrestrained movement.
System Components
include: Electrode Pedestal, Intracranial Electrodes with Socket,
Electrode with Mounting Screw and Socket, Socket Contact, Subcutaneous
Electrode with Socket, Dust Cap and 6-lead Connector Cables.
